PHILOSOPHY OF ATHLETICS THE AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL - CHENNAI
The purpose of the interscholastic athletic program at AISC is to promote the physical, mental, moral, social, and emotional well being of the student.
Participants in the program will be expected to display the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and fair play; to show respect to opposing teams, fellow players, coaches and all officials.
Athletic competition helps students to achieve their full potential as valuable and unique individuals. Athletics provides students with the opportunity to develop physical fitness, a sense of fair play, expose them to team work and a sense of belonging, and it is a constructive use of leisure time.
Participation in the interscholastic program at AISC is not a right. We, the school, consider it a privilege for a student to wear the school uniform and represent the student body in interscholastic competition.
Interscholastic athletics are voluntary and not required for graduation. However, because those participating represent AISC, it is mandatory that to qualify to participate students meet the schools academic requirements, all athletic guidelines and that both citizenship and sportsmanship standards be uncompromising.
